I've also noticed that while the Launcher is pretty good about knowing that an Unreal project exists on the machine ( source or binary), it'll totally lose that reference if you move the project from it's current path. Something I actually really dislike about Epic's Launcher is that, when using the Github/source version of the engine, the Launcher will never recognize that the engine was installed that way ( so the launcher always claims there is no engine installed, even though there certainly is one, it's just the source build).Īs an aside, I personally feel like Epic should dedicate an entire tab on the launcher for Github source builds, but that's probably way too much work that's already been done efficiently by Github themselves.
